Course Information
All distances are approximate and within 5% +/- of the stated figure, give or take a bit. These are trail runs and the wrong place to look for precision. The courses are exacting, but not exact. That being said, the ½ marathons will be pretty close to being a half marathon.
Now this is a tricky one… As you are running across farm land, farmers don’t tend to have readily available name tags for their paddocks so it’s way too complicated to give you detailed instructions (for example run through the paddock go over the gate and um then run through the paddock and so on…) for this one so you’ll have to rely on the markers being in place. It’s not been a problem in the past, so all should be good. There will be arrows to turn you and pickets with tape on them so you can see where to go.
Courses
Half Marathon Course – Great Views!
From the start at Ocean Beach we run straight through the dunes for a short section before heading around the cricket pitch (yes thats correct!) past a lovely art feature and then out onto the main farm tracks. Once you are out on the farm tracks you will follow the arrows and track markers around the farm through a couple of course splits and come out at the far end of the beach.
From here you wind your way back through a combination of farm tracks and dunes etc, eventually coming out onto the beach for a lovely flat run back to the start finish area.
Medium Course ~ 13.5km Still nice views.
With the medium course you will follow the first half of the long course as above.
You will however get to turn off to the right before the last big hill climb and head back out onto the main farm tracks for a while before heading out onto the beach for a nice flat run back to the start finish area.
Short Course ~ 7.5km
With the short course you will follow the first half of the medium course as above. This is a very nice easy flat run that anyone can enjoy.
You will however get to turn off to the right before any big hill climbs and head back out onto the beach for a nice flat run back to the start finish area.
